“Beach and Bone Mele” is an original by artist, Marilyn Radzat.
“Beach and Bone Mele” is a hand sculpted, one of a kind piece. In Hawaiian, mele is the word for chant, prayer or song.
This piece came from many pieces & inspirations gathered on my walks...dried spider lily leaves, palm tree points, sea glass...her bodice created from a palm frond...red seeds from the African tree, and the inspiration & beauty of bones. All the natural elements have been preserved and protected.
Marilyn Radzat has been creating and selling her art for close to 40 years. Using a variety of clays, she sculpts the face and figure, which then becomes the canvas for her unique form of self expression.
As an avid collector, with an eye for treasure in all forms, Marilyn is inspired by everything from antique fabrics and trim from the 1800’s, to antique memorabilia and found bones. “I see beauty in everything, and everything has its own story to tell.”
Marilyn’s pieces embody mystery, promise, enchantment and inspiration.
Approximately 12" tall.
